About the event

Get ready for a night of mystery, food, and hands-on discovery at our next Teen Science Café! This time, we’re diving into the world of archaeology with Dr. Charles Ewen and tackling a real-life historical mystery.

In “Not on the Map: Unraveling an Archaeological Mystery of North Carolina’s Past,” you’ll work alongside an archaeologist to piece together clues from an unexpected discovery at Colonial Brunswick Town. Through interactive questions and group thinking, you’ll help figure out the age and purpose of a building that didn’t even appear on a 1769 map. Afterward, you’ll get up close with real artifacts from the dig.

As always, the event is free and designed for teens in grades 6–12, by teens—plus, we’ll have a breakfast-for-dinner spread to keep you fueled while you investigate!
