About the event

From Petticoats to Powdered Wigs: Building your 18th Century Wardrobe

Presenter: Tammy Gillette

Regent of the Richard Dobbs Spaight Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution

Step back in time and deiscover the fashion and function of an 18th-century North Carolina woman's attire as we dress fer from the ground-up--beginning with her stockings and finishing with her bonnet. Attendees will learn about the many layers of clothing women wore during the middle 1700's while we gain a deeper understanding of daily life, fashion, and culture in colonial North Carolina.
